Glossary

The words Atlas uses, in plain terms.

Candidate

An open order pulled from Invex that is eligible to be routed. Candidates show on the Routing page.

Coil

A group of related job material — think of it as one physical coil of steel. Before production it's really a planned production lot (it can be several pieces); after production the individual pieces are tagged. Atlas keeps a coil's material together when it packs trucks.

Department

The team a job is run as. Shown in the header and stamped onto sync and routing jobs for the audit trail. It records who ran the work — it does not filter what you see.

ICN

A tag on a single piece cut from a coil, unique per piece. An ICN is not the coil itself — you can't group material by ICN, because one coil produces many ICNs.

Invex

The upstream system of record for orders. Atlas syncs candidates from Invex; it never edits Invex directly.

Loadout

One truck's worth of orders produced by a routing run. Lives in the Draft, Approved or Locked lane on the Loadouts board.

Locked loadout

A loadout parked for review because a later sync changed an order it contains. See Loadouts → Locked loadouts.

OTR (Over-the-Road)

A long-haul classification. If a load's total drive time exceeds the assigned truck's limit, routing can reclassify it as OTR; otherwise it's left unrouted with EXCEEDS_DRIVE_TIME.

PWC

A customer/plant grouping used upstream. Atlas derives the owning department from the PWC when it ingests a sync.

Routing profile

The named settings a routing run uses — weight limits, average stop time, fill targets. A run's score and fill checks are measured against the profile that was active when it ran.

Scorecard

The grade Atlas computes for a completed routing run (how well it packed the trucks). Stored with the run and shown as a badge in Routing history.

Unrouted

A candidate that a run couldn't place, tagged with a reason (e.g. UNDER_MIN_WEIGHT, COIL_EXCEEDS_TRAILER). Not an error — a decision point.
